Rear room ceiling drywall

Last bedroom was the one that I already have done once, so that made it much less enjoyable...

Bathroom and Hall Ceiling Drywall

I'm using MMR drywall for the bathroom and walls surrounding it, so it's blue.

Why not put up one of the wall panels too I guess.

This is how I'm containing the low voltage wiring that has to go through the ceiling since it might actually need to be replaced at some point to support modern interfaces.

Lowe's didn't have any conduit elbows so I just ended up using a normal PVC one...

These triangle pieces are a real pain.

Lots of holes for boxes in the hallway.

Most of it is done now which is nice.

Smoke detectors

Because of the extent of the remodel, I have to follow modern building code with a hard-wired smoke detector in each bedroom and one in the hallway.  I decided to color the wiring red with a Magnum Sharpie so it would be easily identifiable in the future.

Front room ceiling drywall

This room was definitely easier than the first, which was nice.

Side room ceiling drywall

I decided to start with the hardest part of the ceiling drywall.  I had to trim the sprayfoam first, I found that my oscillating multitool worked best, but man was it dusty.  By far the worst dust I've dealt with so far since it is so light it stays in the air and is very irritating to eyes.

It also made a huge mess on the floor

It took a while to get the pieces to fit correctly, and man is it going to be a pain when I get to mudding to make it look good.

The rest of the ceiling went up easier though.

I'm leaving a section of drywall out of the ceiling in each room so it's easier to blow insulation in after.

More equipment!

My friend with a farm moved his tractor here for the winter so it'd be easier to work on and for me to weld together a loader attachment for it.  So that was cool having in the backyard for awhile.

He also got a skid steer which is a ton of fun.  It's definitely bigger than optimal for re-grading my yard in the future, but it'll work.

Picking up drywall and siding

I got all the raw oak straight from a lumbermill to make all my floors and trim out of.

I decided to buy all the drywall for my upstairs at once and just store it in my garage.  This is the first of the 2 loads.

I'm glad I had a tractor here to help with unloading it, but it left a mess because it didn't have enough weight on the back.

The first time the loader attachment I welded together for the tractor was used was to get the drywall (just for the ceilings for now) upstairs.  It was so much better than hoisting it up by hand.

I also bought all the siding for my house to put in my garage.  I'm only doing the upper half for now, but I wanted to make sure I had enough for all of it in case they stop making it or something.  It doesn't look like much, but since it's fiber-cement, it's super heavy.  What's on that trailer weighs about 8k lbs, and I had to drive all the way to the Lowe's in Manitowoc to get it.

Definitely glad I bought a dually, especially since I tend to load trailers way to heavy on the front.

I got it all unloaded that night.  Took a few hours and about 200 trips on and off the trailer, and I completely wore through a brand new pair of gloves.  It's strapped together so I can't accidentally knock it over.
